iPhone 18 series is coming soon!
Apple has started mass production of the iPhone 18, which will officially debut in the spring of 2026!
Recent leaks suggest that Apple's iPhone 18 will be released in just over three months. To be honest, I was quite surprised when I first saw this news, because the iPhone 17 series has only been on the market for less than six months, and the iPhone 18 is already coming?
However, upon closer inspection, this actually reflects Apple's latest adjusted release strategy.

According to leaks, Apple will begin a phased release of new products starting this year. The standard iPhone 18 (and iPhone 17e) will be released in spring 2026, followed by the high-end iPhone 18 Pro series in the fall, and there might even be a foldable screen model. This release schedule is beneficial for both users and the supply chain.
Let's first talk about the standard iPhone 18. Compared to its predecessor, the changes are not significant, but there are some practical upgrades.
Its camera operation buttons have been simplified by eliminating the capacitive sensor. This change reduces costs and allows for a more compact overall design.

The iPhone 18's processor has been upgraded to the 2nm A20 Chip, resulting in stronger overall performance. Its RAM has also been increased to 12GB, ensuring smooth operation for both everyday use and demanding applications.
As for the iPhone 18's design, it largely continues the classic design of its predecessor, so there are no stunning changes. However, it still maintains a dignified and attractive appearance.

As for the iPhone 18 Pro, it will be released in the fall of 2026. However, the production lines are already ready, indicating that its design is essentially finalized.
The iPhone 18 Pro series will also be equipped with the A20 Pro chip processor and may feature under-display Face ID, a variable aperture lens, and Samsung's new three-layer stacked image sensor, resulting in a significant improvement in overall photography capabilities and a premium user experience.
Furthermore, Apple plans to use its self-developed C2 modem for the first time on this device, thereby improving communication stability and speed.

The iPhone 18 Pro's design is largely unchanged from its predecessor, with only minor tweaks to details, making it more appealing to high-end users in terms of aesthetics and feel.
So, why does Apple release iPhones in phases? The core purpose is simple: this allows for precise targeting of different user needs and improves operational efficiency.
Previously, when iPhones were released all year, two major problems often arose: firstly, production lines were under immense pressure, leading to stock shortages; secondly, revenue became highly dependent on the fall releases, resulting in lower market activity in other quarters.

Therefore, a phased release strategy can effectively solve these problems. In spring, a basic model can be launched to cater to budget-conscious users while also alleviating production pressure.
Then, in autumn, the high-end Pro series and foldable screen models can be released, primarily targeting high-end users to boost profits, while also maintaining consistent buzz and sales throughout the year.
Another advantage is that a phased release effectively avoids cannibalizing sales between different models. Since the basic model in spring targets general users, the high-end model in autumn targets high-net-worth individuals, so these two releases don't interfere with each other.
In fact, for ordinary users, there's no need to agonize over which model to buy, because there are different times of the year and different target audiences to choose from, making it easier to plan budgets and purchase timing.

In summary, Apple's iPhone 18 series launch strategy represents an innovative attempt at product pacing.
The standard iPhone 18 focuses on a solid, reliable approach, catering to the needs of most users; while the Pro series prioritizes an ultimate user experience, satisfying the expectations of high-end users.
From both a supply chain and user experience perspective, this phased release strategy is reasonable and fosters anticipation and patience while waiting for new products.
Therefore, the standard iPhone 18 will be unveiled next spring, and the iPhone 18 Pro will be revealed in the fall. Let's wait and see.
